US Nationals 2006!
Wow! Nats was awesome! Here is what happened.
I got there really early when only like 8 other people where there. Alot of little guys. Like 12 and under.
Mateo Olivencia, Grant Johnson, Elliot Dobbs, Grahm Dobbs, Tyler Goldengerg and others.
I really enjoy watching prelims because even though alot of the players dont get into the finals. They are still very skilled.
The most amazed prelim I saw though of someone who did not get into a final was in the 1A, John Chow. Wow that kid was skilled. He was pulling off some really hard whips and crazy 1A stuff. I see him going quite far in yoyoing.
During Sterling Quinns 4A prelim, there was a loud BAM! A car had backfired and Sterling lost an aqua and everyone jumped. I thought someone shot a gun so I got scared a bit. Haha.
I did every division and saw that i was not in 5A and 4A so I kinda knew I wouldnt be in 1A 2A and 3A.
But then Jonathan Feldman ran up to me screaming JOSH! YOUR IN THE 3a FINALS! I was thinking he was just joking but it turned out he wasnt. I actually got in the finals of 3A and like began going crazy.
I did ok. but I know I got last place in the finals.
I ended up getting 5th and I was proud of my placing.
Yah. It was great.

There was a camera crew out there and they filming people for tv.
awesome. I think they were for cartoon network.
It was also fun when I got to cheer for people doing crazy freestyles like Augies 5A. Josephs 2A, Johns 2A and Tsubasas 4A! Brian Cosky is funny though. When a bunch of us were screaming for Augie, he came by and "Shushed" us.
It was really cool meeting all of the yoyo players.

Yoyo's? Yeah I bought yoyos! I got a nats edition kickside. Lyn and a cool dark magic signed by Andre Boulay. Yah. awesome.
If some of you didnt make it this year. make it next year. Its woth the time in a plane or a car. Its 3 days (well counting hotel time) of pure fun and constant yoyoing.
So cool.
